Eionet workshop first announcement

EEA/ETC Water EIONET ANNUAL WORKSHOP

FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT

TITLE: Progress and future challenges for Eurowaternet

TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION:

• Progress on EWN rivers, lakes and groundwaters
• Progress on EWN Impact network
• Progress on EWN Quantity network
• Progress on EWN Emissions and the development of pressure indicators
• The development of Reportnet tools (ROD, Data Dictionary and Generic Data Exchange Module)
• Priority data flows benchmarking the countries
• The development of web-based Waterbase
• Water Indicators, the Core Set and indicators under development (special focus on biological data flows/indicators for the WFD)
• LARA, links between Agriculture and Water Quality
• Reporting of the Water Framework Directive (Reporting Sheets) and Eurowaternet.

LOCATION: Hotel Platanus, Budapest, Hungary

DATES: November 11-12 2004

INVITATION: ETC Water will pay the travel and subsistence costs of one representative from the 31 member countries of the EEA.

NFPs are invited to nominate their country expert, ideally the PCP or NRC for inland waters.

Nominated experts are asked to register their interest with Caroline Brandt, ETC Water Administrator by sending an email to:
