Water Data Centre

All published EEA water data are accessible through EEA Data Service , together with many relevant documents, maps and links.

Data sets are published at the EEA website via EEA Datasets page in Water section for SoE data, Water Directives data and relevant GIS reference layers.

ETC/ICM is responsible for the data handling of the State of Environment (SoE) data and Water Directive data in the following areas:

- WISE SoE Rivers Water Quality including Biological Elements in Rivers (2011 WISE-SoE reporting data)

- WISE SoE Lakes Water Quality including Biological Elements in Lakes (2011 WISE-SoE reporting data)

- WISE SoE Groundwater Quality (2011 WISE-SoE reporting data)

- WISE SoE Transitional, Coastal and Marine Waters Quality (2011 WISE-SoE reporting data)

- WISE SoE Emissions to water (2011 WISE-SoE reporting data)

- WISE SoE Water Quantity (2011 WISE-SoE reporting data)

- Bathing Water Directive - Status of Bathing Water (2011 bathing season + some historical data since 1990)

- Urban Waste Water Treatment Directive data (2011 UWWTD reporting data)

- WISE Large Rivers and Large Lakes (GIS reference layer) (version 1.1, February 2009)

- WISE River Basin Districts (RBDs) and River Basin Districts Subunits (RBDSU) (GIS reference layer) (version 1.4, July 2011)

- WISE WFD database - selected data (Surface water bodies, Groundwater bodies) (published in November 2012)

- WISE Groundwater - GIS layer of WFD groundwater bodies (published in April 2013)

For WISE SoE data processing, ETC/ICM data managers follow agreed and standardised Data handling techniques and QA/QC guides.

The Water section of the EEA Datasets page has been updated with 2011 WISE-SoE reporting data and is now available to the public.
